Cookies are short text fragments (letters and / or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (browser) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even at a distance of days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, from the single browser on the specific device you are using (computers, tablets, smartphones).
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to gather information about user behavior and the use of services.
In the following, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies by simply using the term "cookies".
TYPES OF COOKIE
Cookies strictly needed. These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the VPFM.IT sites and are used to manage login and access to the site's private functions. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the work session (closed browser is deleted), except for the VPFM.IT site where longer-term cookies (with a 30-day deadline) are used to recognize, for such a limited period, the computer of the visitor - through an alpha-numeric code generated at the first access session - to reproduce the result of the user-made test. Their deactivation compromises the use of accessible login services. The public part of the VPFM.IT sites is still usable.
Analysis and performance cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyze traffic and site usage anonymously. These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect whether the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow you to monitor your system and improve its performance and usability. Disabling such cookies can be performed without any loss of functionality.
THIRD PARTY COOKIES
By visiting a website you may receive cookies from both the visited site ("owners") or from sites managed by other organizations ("third parties"). A notable example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly from these sites and integrated into the site's host site. The most common use of social plugins is to share content on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relevant information to which reference is made. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, here are the web addresses of the various information and how to manage cookies.
VPFM.IT sites also include some components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google") and/or Shinystat. Again, this is third-party cookies that are collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of your site (performance cookie).
Google Analytics/Shinystat uses "cookies" to collect and analyze in an anonymous form the information about the behavior of VPFM.IT websites (including the user's IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics/Shinystat, which processes them for the purpose of drafting reports for VPFM.IT regarding the activities on the websites themselves. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google Analysis Tool to track or collect personal identification information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google or attempts to link an IP address with a user's identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where this is required by law or where such third parties refer the above information to Google.

The user can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable Google Analytics action, please refer to the following link:
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active until the browser closes or the logout command is executed. Other cookies "survive" at the end of the browser and are also available on subsequent visits of the user.
These cookies are said to be persistent and their duration is fixed by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases a deadline is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited.
VPFM.IT site where the information is stored for technical purposes only, does not use persistent cookies.
However, browsing the VPFM.IT website pages, you can interact with third-party managed sites that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies using their browser settings.
Warning: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of site features reserved for registered users. Conversely, the use of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies.
Disabling third party cookies does not affect navigability in any way.
The setting can be specifically defined for different sites and web applications. In addition, the best browsers allow you to define different settings for "proprietary" and "third-party" cookies.
By way of example, in Firefox, through the Tools-> Options -> Privacy menu, you can access a control panel where you can decide whether to accept or not the different types of cookies and to remove them.
